Acceptance Speech by Maria Elena Cuomo on the occasion of receiving top honorary award from the President of the Republic of Senegal

Your Excellence,

I am deeply honoured and moved by this decoration that Your Excellency Mr President has kindly bestowed on me for the realisation of the Cuomo Cardio-Paediatric Centre.

This was a project undertaking that involved numerous discussions with all members of the Board of Directors, as the Foundation in the first 10 years of its establishment had primarily focussed on building schools for disadvantaged children and supporting scholarships for the most deserving.

Discours de la Présidente de la Fondation Cuomo lors de la remise de l’insigne de l’Ordre National du Lion

Excellence,

Je suis émue et très honorée de la décoration que Votre Excellence Monsieur le Président a bien voulu m’accorder pour la réalisation du Centre Cardio-Pédiatrique Cuomo.

C’était un projet dont nous avons discuté beaucoup avec les Membres du Conseil d’Administration car la Fondation, dans ses premières dix années de son existence, n’a bâti que des écoles pour les enfants les plus démunis et n’a élargi que des bourses d’études pour les plus méritants.
